The former members of the Olivet World Assembly and students and victims from Olivet University are encouraged by the California Attorney General’s petition to the Department of Consumer Affairs, seeking the closure of Olivet University. This week’s hearing made it clear that David Jang and Olivet University willingly and overtly harmed students in very callous ways and employed tactics that enriched and benefited the University and David Jang’s international organization.
We are hopeful that a decisive verdict will bring closure to this painful chapter and prevent Olivet University from operating in California and exploiting any further students across the United States. We also are awaiting the outcomes of the U.S. Department of Justice’s ongoing investigation, confident that the overwhelming evidence will lead to full accountability for Olivet University’s actions.
Our group of students and families provided testimony to investigators and continue to speak out about David Jang and Olivet University’s harmful practices.”
